Mason’s connection to Camp GROW began at a young age—he first attended camp as an eight-year-old and quickly fell in love with the sense of adventure, community, and freedom that camp life offers. Growing up along the Gulf Coast of Alabama, Mason spent much of his childhood exploring bays and estuaries, where he developed a lifelong passion for fishing and the outdoors. Those early experiences shaped his deep respect for nature and the role it plays in personal growth.
In recent years, Mason has stepped into leadership roles across a variety of outdoor settings, guiding river trips, rock climbing expeditions, and horseback adventures. His calm presence, hands-on experience, and enthusiasm for teaching make him a natural mentor for campers as they build confidence, skills, and a sense of responsibility in the outdoors.
Mason is excited to return to Camp GROW for another season of adventure, connection, and growth. He looks forward to building meaningful relationships with campers and staff, sharing his love of the outdoors, and—whenever possible—demonstrating the fine art of bending a 5-weight graphite rod with a well-placed 4” streamer.
