As a child, Jase attended Wingate’s Lunker Lodge in south Georgia, a summer camp for fishermen and shotgunners, as well as Camp Marshall, an Episcopal youth camp in northwest Montana. Aside from those camps he spent every opportunity exploring wild places with his family and on his own.
After graduating high school in northwest Montana, Jase attended community college on a Logger Sports scholarship, and then spent most of a decade in the oil and gas industry working and exploring all over the world. From the Western Rockies to the Zagros Mountains in Northern Iraq, nothing quite compared to Wyoming’s Wind River Range.
Jase and his wife Chrissy now operate Big Sandy Lodge resort and outfitting business in Sublette County, Wyoming. He is also the outfitter for Camp Grow. He enjoys helping to train new counselors on horses, rivers, blacksmithing, and back-country, but most of the year he can only be found in the Bridger Wilderness above 10,000 feet.
